Born in Torella Dei Lombardi, Italy
WATERBURY - Maria Immaculata Cozza Parziale, age 94 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12th, 2021 at Cheshire House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Maria was born December 7th, 1927 in Torella Dei Lombardi, Avellino, Italy. She was the eldest daughter of the late Michele and Beatrice Cozza. Maria emigrated to the United States with her then husband, Michele, in 1958, settled in Waterbury and became a United States citizen. She was a well-regarded seamstress who worked at Worth's Department Store from 1964 until its closing in 1988. She then worked at Mar-Vic Cleaners until 1998. In her retirement, she spent time with family and helped raise her beloved granddaughter, Olivia. Maria was an excellent cook, faithful and loyal parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, as well as the 10:00 a.m. daily masses on ORTV. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert (Bob) Parziale, (fianceé Lonnie Cavanaugh), and loving granddaughter, Olivia Parziale, with whom she made her home. She also leaves her remaining siblings in Italy: Luisa D'Agostino, Antionette Rocca, Enzo Cozza, Antonio Cozza as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings: Giuseppe Cozza, Teresa Taddeo, and Mario Cozza.

Bob and Olivia would also like to thank Maria's healthcare providers through the years: Drs. Joe DeLuca, Joe Morley, and Mark Schoenfeld, especially the excellent staff who provided care for Maria at Cheshire House.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at 11:0o a.m. at Mary, Mother of The Church Parish/Saints Peter and Paul Church on 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury, Connecticut 06705. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Her entombment will follow at Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
