OAKVILLE - Maria G. Quirici, age 102, of Oakville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness on Friday, April 14th, 2023. She was the widow of Dante Quirici.

Maria was born May 25, 1920, in Cercemaggiore, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Carrieri) D’Amico. She was educated in Italy and moved to the United States, where she had a long career as an assembler at Timex Corporation before retiring. Maria was a woman of profound faith and was a long-time member of Saint Mary Magdalen parish in Oakville, and a member of the Catholics Women’s organization. She was proud of her Italian heritage and enjoyed teaching those traditions to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her homemade pizza and traditional holiday meals. Maria enjoyed crocheting and was constantly crafting things, even up to the time of her illness. She was a former member of the Falls Avenue Senior Center and the Cercemaggiore Club auxiliary and enjoyed playing BINGO. It can be said with great pride that Maria exemplified a "life well lived".

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her sons; Antonio D’Amico of Waterbury and Carlo D’Amico and his wife, Nina of FL., as well as her daughter, Michelina DiStasi of Thomaston, her brother, Peter D’Amico and her sister, Filomena D’Amico both of Italy. Maria was blessed with ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren as well as great-great-grandchildren, and even great-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael D’Amico and her sister, Maria Maselli.

Funeral services for Mrs. Quirici will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 9:15 from The Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville, CT 06779, to Saint Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St., Oakville, when a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Maria’s family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
