AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
WATERBURY Mrs. Marion (Basilico) Moriarty, age 80 of Harland Ave Waterbury died peacefully on Saturday morning at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family after an extended illness. She was the wife of John "Jack" Moriarty.
Marion was born on January 30, 1932 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Rocco and Angelina (Cipriano) Basilico. She was a graduate of Slocum Grammar School, Crosby High School and Post College. She worked for many years as the Accounts Payable Manager and Worths Dept Store and later in her career she worked for Dr. and Mrs. Claire Whalley in their many endeavors. Marion was a lover of the arts, particularly opera and was an avid traveler however her most cherished time was when surrounded by her loving family, especially her grandchildren. She was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church.
Besides her devoted husband of 58 years, Marion leaves her two sons, John Moriarty and his wife Theodora of San Diego CA and Jeffrey Moriarty and his wife Pamela of Branford and her two beloved grandchildren, Leah and Connor John Moriarty. She also leaves her sister, Mrs. Geraldine Reardon of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Campbell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moriarty will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St. Waterbury to Saints Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. to Celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 till 8 pm.
