OAKVILLE - Marie R. (Famiglietti) Gomes age 81 passed away peacefully August 31, 2013. She was the wife of Caesar Gomes.
Marie was born December 29, 1931 in Oakville, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Petrucelli) Famiglietti and was a life long resident of Oakville. She was educated in Watertown schools. Prior to her retirement in 2003, Marie was employed at the Siemon Company and was a homemaker. She was also an avid UCONN Women's basketball fan.
Besides her husband of 55 years Caesar Gomes of Oakville she leaves two daughters Elaine and her husband Tom Goddard of Bolton, MA and Nancy and her husband Ed Malaspina of Prospect, two brothers Anthony Famiglietti and his wife Bonnie of Oakville and John Famiglietti and his wife Sharon of Naugatuck, five grandchildren Rebecca and Hannah Goddard of Bolton, MA and Bianca, Alexis and Dante Malaspina of Prospect, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Jenny Liguori, Carmella Osteen and Eleanor Clock, and a brother Michael Famiglietti.
Funeral services for Marie will be held on Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT 06779. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may visit with Marie's family at the funeral home on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 5 p.m. until the service at 7. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway Waterbury, CT 06708.
