AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - OAKVILLE - MARIE J. (GIBBO) RICHARDSON age 85, of Franklin Ave. died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Ernest Ervin Richardson, her husband of 60 years before his passing in 2006.
Marie was born July 10, 1925 in New Jersey, a daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Mildred (Balthazar) Gibbo and had lived in Oakville since 1968. She was educated in Waterbury Schools. Prior to her retirement in 1987, Marie was employed as a supervisor at Wheeler Electronics in Waterbury where she worked for over 25 years. She was an avid reader and cat lover. Marie's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Drs. Jeffrey Stern, Stephen Widman and Anthony Cusano, as well as the Watertown VNA Hospice Program, for all of the loving, personal and compassionate care that they provided to their Mom.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her son, William D. Richardson and his wife Irena S. of Waterbury, her daughter Donna Dressel of Wolcott, two sisters Vivian Tierney and her husband William of South Carolina, Joyce Cooke of Prospect, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Ernest E. Richardson Jr., a brother Frederick Gibbo and two sisters Dorothy Lieber and Rosemary Schilling
Funeral services for Mrs Richardson will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 7:00pm at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the service at 7 p.m.
