WOLCOTT, CT - Marie (Nardello) Stephens, age 88 of Wolcott, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January27, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Edward L. Stephens Sr.
Marie was born October 18, 1929 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Charles and Caroline (DeRienzo) Nardello. She was educated in local schools and worked in the healthcare industry, most recently at Southmayd Home in Waterbury. Marie liked to play bingo, enjoyed her trips to the casino and loved sitting and conversing with her many friends at both Eastgate in Waterbury and Edgemont in Wolcott. She was a former parishioner of St Vincent Ferrar Church in Naugatuck. Marie will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Among her survivors are her children; Police Chief, Edward Stephens and his wife Margo of Wolcott, Cheryl LeCheminant of Waterbury, Donna Stephens of Watertown, Dana Proulx and her husband, Jim of Cape Coral FL and Wendy Praleikas and her husband, John of Charleston SC. She also leaves her grandchildren; Jessica and Adam Proulx, Justin (Megan) Stephens, Erica (Kirk) Mulroney, Stephen and Shelby Praleikas and two great grandchildren; Oliver and Brooks. She alaso leaves her niece, Nancy Lombardo of Prospect and her nephew, Dan Nardello of Las Vegas. Marie was predeceased by her brother Felix Nardello and her son-in-law, Peter LeCheminant.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stephens will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent Ferrar Church, Naugatuck at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Marie's family at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT on Tuesday, January 30th 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00pm.
