OAKVILLE- Marie (Fusco) Womelsdorf, age 87, died Sunday June 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Edward C. Womelsdorf.
Marie was born April 11, 1927 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Giovanni "John" and Pasqualina "Pauline" (Polletta) Fusco and lived in Oakville for most of her life. She was a graduate of Watertown High School Class of 1945. Prior to her retirement in 1986, Marie was employed at Fusco's Inc. as a secretary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking Italian food for her family and attending Bible study. Marie was a member of Faith Bible Chapel in Litchfield.
Besides her loving husband of 64 years, she leaves a son Edward Womelsdorf and his wife Carol of Oakville, a daughter Jeanne M. Raper and her husband Bobby of Uxbridge MA, two brothers Domenic J. Fusco of Melbourne Beach, FL, and Richard J. Fusco of Watertown, a sister Yolanda McCarthy of Oakville, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother John J. Fusco.
Funeral Wednesday at 12 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville CT 06779. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International P.O.
