AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - Waterbury, CT. Mrs. Marion R. (Robinson) Ford, age 92, of Idylwood Ave Waterbury, died Thursday evening, December16th at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was the widow of Joseph T. Ford.
Marion was born November 5, 1918 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Marvin and Gladys (Cleveland) Robinson. Marion was a devoted wife and mother who worked briefly as a clerk at the North Mill at Scovills during World War II. Marion was actively involved with the Girl Scouts having served as Troop Leader at Christ Church for many years. Marion devoted her life to her family, lovingly caring for her ailing husband in their home before his passing in 1999.
Marion is survived by her three children, her son Paul of Waterbury, her daughters; Marion Spranger and her husband Paul of Colonia NJ and Martha Knox of Waterbury, her 9 grandchildren and their spouses: Jeremy & Jo-Ann, Ellen & James, Beth & Chris, Cathy & Scott, Paul J & Diane, David & Allison, Joseph & Jennie, Joyce & Michael and Jennifer & Wes. Marion also leaves 16 great grandchildren with 2 "on the way". Marion also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs.Ford will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 12 noon at the Christ Episcopal Church, 2030 East Main St. Waterbury CT 06705 Family and friends may visit at the church from 11am until the service at noon. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Mrs. Ford's memory may be made to "The Parish Nursing Program", 9 Bond St Wallington NJ 07057, a ministry co-founded by her daughter Marion.
