OAKVILLE - Marion (DeLuca) Mauriello age 91 of Oakville died peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her entire family. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Mauriello for 64 wonderful years.
Marion was born on July 27, 1925 in Ellenville NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Concetta (Mollica) DeLuca. A longtime resident of Oakville, Marion was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalen Church and will be sadly missed by her loving family and by all who knew and loved her.
Marion leaves her two sons; Gilbert Mauriello and his wife, Dolly of Oakville, Robert Mauriello and his wife, Iris of Watertown, a daughter, Maryann Massengill-Black and her husband, Bill of Oakville, six grandchildren Tracie Mauriello of Alexandria VA., Joseph Mauriello and his wife, Katie of Bristol, Heather Mauriello and her fiancé, Keith Quadrato of Naugatuck, Charlie Mauriello of Watertown, Kelsie Massengill and Bill Black III both of Oakville, two great grandsons, Joey and Matthew Mauriello of Bristol, two brothers; Frank DeLuca of Hackettstown NJ and Russell DeLuca of Middlebury and a sister, Millie Desjardins of Oakville as well as several nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her son-in-law, Dennis Massengill and her sister, Lucy Cremins. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Hartford Healthcare at Home, Hospice for the love and care they shared with Marion during her illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mauriello will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Marion's family on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St., Oakville CT 06779.
