FORT COLLINS COLORADO - Mrs. Margery "Margy" K. Mellentin, 86, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away on May 9, 2016. She was the widow of Robert Mellentin.
Margery Isabel Krafft was born Sept. 21, 1929, the daughter of Edwin William and Helen McLaughlin Krafft. She attended Edina High School and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta
sorority at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where she met the love of her life, Robert Mellentin. They were married in Minneapolis on March 27, 1951.
Margery was a homemaker, a member of PEO, and loved traveling where Robert's
career with General Foods took them. They lived in Colorado Springs, San Francisco, Kankakee, IL, Battle Creek, MI, Brussels, Belgium, Westport, Weston, and Watertown, CT, and in Fort Collins, CO for 27 years. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, loved to sew and knit, garden, go camping, played the piano, sang in the church choir, swim, visiting Disney World, birds, sunsets, her family cabin on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and caring for her husband, "Bobo" through his journey with cancer. She loved her family, traveling in their RV, and their dogs. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
Margery is survived by her daughters, Janet Huff, and her husband Lyle of Fort Collins and
Kathryn O'Leary and her husband, Mayor Neil O'Leary of Watertown, and Waterbury CT and her grandchildren Jody, Jacob, and Patrick and his wife Melissa and great granddaughter, Isabel.
