OAKVILLE - Mrs. Marjorie (Brandt) LaPointe Collins, age 92 of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30th 2019 at her home. She was the widow of Raymond B. Collins.
Marjorie was born on December 12, 1927 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Walter and Zaba (Brodeur) Brandt. She was raised in Oakville and educated in Watertown Schools. Marjorie worked 18 years as a supervisor for Winchester Electronics in Oakville and later retired from Haydon Switch in Waterbury. Marjorie loved to travel and enjoyed her many trips to Cape Cod. She loved her family and her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were the light of her life.
Among her survivors are her children, Russell LaPointe and his wife, Terry of Morrisville, VT, Linda Fisher and her husband, Chuck of Watertown , Randal LaPointe and his fiancé, Denise Wildman of Oakville, Daniel Collins and his wife, Doreen of Northfield, David Collins and his wife, Debbie of Show-Low AZ. In addition, Marjorie also leaves 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews, and her beloved Maine Coon Cat "Boots". Besides her husband Raymond, she was predeceased by her son, Ronald LaPointe and her grandson, James LaPointe as well as her brother and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be held on Monday January 6th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Marjorie's family on Monday morning from 9:30 until the service at 11:00 at the funeral home. To honor Marjorie's memory, donations may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
