Mr. Mark E. Capaldo

November 14, 1970 — November 5, 2023

Beloved Husband, Son, Father, Uncle, and Brother

WOLCOTT– Mark E. Capaldo, age 52, of Wolcott, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at home. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Stango) Capaldo.

Mark was born on November 14, 1970, in Waterbury, CT, the son of Joan (Stack) Capaldo and the late Robert J. Capaldo. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and attended Naugatuck Valley Community Technical College. In his younger years, Mark worked as a waiter and bartender at several local restaurants where he formed many lasting friendships. His career was focused on computer technology; he worked for several tech companies in the area, including Compass MSP and, most recently, AI Engineers, where he served as the Assistant Director of IT. Mark had a passion for golf, music, and sports cars, and he enjoyed racing. However, his greatest accomplishment was being an exceptional father to his daughter, Gianna. He loved coaching her softball team and never missed one of her softball or basketball games, even catching for her pitching lessons. Mark was a devoted parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church.

To honor his legacy and cherish his memory, Mark is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jeanette, and his beloved daughter, Gianna. He is also survived by his mother, Joan (Stack) Capaldo of Oakville, his sister, Diane Capaldo Laires, and her husband, Daniel, of Naugatuck. Additionally, he is remembered by his honorary brother, Walid Gad, and Walid's wife, Hassnaa, of Waterbury. Mark considered his in-laws to be his own family. Cherishing his memory are his mother-in-law, Betty Stango, and his brothers-in-law: Michael and his wife, Dana Stango; Bill and his wife, Linda Stango; and Michael and his wife, Rose Nihan. Mark's beloved nieces and nephews include Cecilia Laires, Maryem and Adhem Gad, Amanda and David Marinaro, Billy Stango, Tia Nihan, Mike and Jess Nihan, along with their two children, Baer and Juniper, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
