Mark Louis Marcil, III, 25, of Kernersville passed away on April 30, 2023 in Asheville, North Carolina. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, he was the son of Mark and Theresa Marcil.
Mark is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Theresa Marcil, his grandmother Eileen Thompson of Waterbury, Connecticut, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donna Marcil, Robert Marcil, and John Thompson Jr..
Per the family's request, there will be no funeral services held at this time.
Mark was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and grew up in Watertown, Connecticut most of his life.
He graduated W. F. Kaynor Regional Technical Vocational High School in Waterbury, Connecticut.
He worked several odd jobs during a brief stay in Wolcott, Connecticut until relocating to North Carolina to work under his uncle in the insurance adjuster business.
Mark was known to always make people have fun and laugh in his presence. He was deeply loved by all his friends and family and was a joy to be around. This is shared by everyone that he had come in contact with through all the joyful years of his short life.
He passed away due to a tragic overdose in a sober living house during his long battle with mental illness and drug addiction. The family is letting you know this detail so you can be aware that this can hit home at any time. All we ask is to support these type of programs and pray for Mark and all the people still struggling with mental illness and drug addiction.

Funeral services for Mr Marcil will be held on Friday June 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church 16 Buckingham St Oakville CT.Those planning on attending are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Mark's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Casey-O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT. .
