“Beloved Husband Father and Grandfather”
OAKVILLE – It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Mark Gregory Navarra, age 60, of Oakville, announce the peaceful passing of their beloved husband and father on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Melissa (Fenn) Navarra for over 22 years.
Mark was born on September 3, 1964, in Danbury, CT, the son of the late Vincent and Marie (Florio) Navarra. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical High School, and he received his Associates Degree from Mattatuck Community College. Mark was employed with the Siemon Company as a Research and Development Lab Technician since 1998. His love for adventure and the great outdoors was evident in his passion for hiking, camping, and playing cornhole with his family. He was a master behind the grill, enjoying barbequing, smoking, and grilling, always impressing his loved ones with his culinary skills. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family, creating cherished memories that will live on forever.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory beside his wife and soulmate since 1985 Melissa, are his children, daughter, Rebekah Fenn (Brett Busch), son, Timothy Koskelowski, and his two beloved grandchildren; Ava Grace and Oliver James. Mark also leaves his brothers; Bernard (Annie) Navarra of Ormond Beach, FL, and Steven (Dawn) Navarra of Carlisle, OH, his sister-in-law, Sandra Navarra, a niece Jennifer (Rick) Falci, along with other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Navarra.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Mark's life will be held at the Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St., Oakville, CT 06779, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family. To honor Mark’s memory and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Harold Leever Cancer Center at https://www.leevercancercenter.org/donate/.
