THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF MARY ALSEPH

Active in the Waterbury Community

WATERBURY -Mary Alseph, age 89 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 22, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the widow of John F. Alseph Sr.

Mary was born April 3rd 1931 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Farrell) Brennan Sr. Mary studied nursing at E.C. Goodwin School in New Britain and worked as an LPN at Bristol and Bradley Hospitals and retired from Meridian Manor Nursing Home. Mary also served as Coordinator for Persons with disabilities for the City of Waterbury from 1994-1998 Mary was a devout Catholic and active member of, Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 165 in Wolcott, and a member of the East End Senior Club where she helped organize the original group. Mary was also active in the Waterbury Neighborhood Council, the Republican Town Committee and the East End Community Club. She will be greatly missed all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to honor Mary's love and legacy are her children, John "Jack" Alseph Jr. and his wife, Maureen Burns of Waterbury, her daughter, Kathleen Howard of Bethlehem, and her son, Thomas Alseph and his wife, Maria of Waterbury as well as her son in law, Charles Lavandar of Colorado Springs. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Lavandar and son in-law, John J. Howard as well as a grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alseph will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2020 at 10:00 at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Saints Peter and Paul Campus. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Casey Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705, has been honored to assist the Alseph family during this difficult time.
