WOLCOTT - Mary Brenda (O'Donnell) Taylor, age 80, of Wolcott passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in the comfort of her home. She was the widow of David Taylor.
Mary was born on January 6, 1940 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Fitzpatrick) O'Donnell. Mary was a graduate of SS Peter & Paul Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School. She worked at Stop and Shop for more than 30 years. Mary led a very full and adventurous life. She volunteered at the Waterbury Palace Theater, at the Wolcott Library and was an active member of the Wolcott Women's' club. Mary thoroughly enjoyed her card games, and dinners with her close friends, particularly the tight knit crew from Stop & Shop. She loved to travel and was always willing to try something new. She was not one to shy from a new adventure or experience, be it a helicopter ride in Alaska or traversing the Great Wall of China. Although throughout all this activity, it was the people who surrounded her that were near and dear to her. Mary loved people; and she was loved tremendously in return. She will be sadly missed by those who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy, are her sons; Steven and David, David's wife, Kelly, and by her daughter, Maureen. She also leaves sister-in-law, Mary Jane O'Donnell, and grandchildren; Dakotah Jenkins, Nicole Bedard, Rebecca and Zachary Taylor, Janelle Prince and Emma French. Mary also leaves many nieces and nephews, and their children. Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia, brothers; John and Joseph O'Donnell and sister, Kathleen O'Donnell
Funeral Services for Mrs. Taylor will be held on Friday August 28th 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Pius X church 517 Woodtick Rd, Wolcott, CT 06716. Those planning to attend are asked to follow all governmental COVID 19 regulations and meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Casey's Eastside Memorial has been honored to care for Mary and her family during this difficult time.
