WATERTOWN - Mary (Therrien) Calabrese, age 88 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on
Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Middlebury Convalescent Home after an extended illness. She was
the widow of Alnord "Peanuts" Calabrese.
Mary was born April 6, 1929 in Derby CT, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Egan)
Therrien. She was educated in local schools and worked for many years as a telephone operator at
Southern New England Telephone Company. Mary was an avid bowler and was a dedicated
volunteer at Easter Seals. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church.
Among her survivors is her son, Richard "Ricky" Calabrese of Oakville in addition to several nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David Calabrese and brother, Frederick Dains.
Mary's family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to all of the staff at Middlebury
Convalescent Home for the care and love they shared with Mary during her stay.
Funeral services for Mrs. Calabrese will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the
O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT 06779. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit with Mary's family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the service
at 11:00 a.m. To honor Mary's memory, donations to Easter Seals of Greater Waterbury, 22 Tomkins
