WATERTOWN - Mary Helen (Gruhuskas) Dubay, age 92, of Watertown passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Florida on June 6th 2017. She was the widow of Norman Dubay.
Mary was born December 16, 1924 in Watertown, CT the daughter of the late Michael and Selma (Hekkannan) Gruhuskas. She attended Saint John's Grammar School and was a graduate of Watertown High School and spent over 30 years working as a waitress at the former Mike's Coffee Shop in Watertown. Mary was an active volunteer and board member of the Water-Oak VFW Post 5157 Auxiliary where she held various positions since 1960. She was also an active member of the Watertown Grange and a voter registrar volunteer.
Among her survivors are her children Linda Dunne and her husband, Keith of The Villages, FL Susan Dubay, James Dubay and his wife Angela all of Watertown, Richard Dubay of Meriden, in addition to her grandchildren Cassandra Dunne, Melanie, Robyn, and Michelle Guerrera, and James Dubay. She is also survived by her 4 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her siblings Katherine Lutz, Michael, James, and John Hayden.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dubay will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church Watertown, CT at 10:00a.m. Those planning on attending are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Mary's family on Wednesday evening, June 14, 2017 at The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville from 5 PM to 7 PM.
