Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister
WATERBURY – It is with deep sorrow that the family of Mary Ellen Quicquaro, age 75, of Waterbury, announce the unexpected passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, daughter, and friend, who passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2025, at Saint Mary’s Hospital after an extended illness. She was a devoted wife of John Quicquaro.
Mary Ellen was born January 24th, 1950, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Hugh and Jane (Simpson) McCormack. She was a graduate of Kennedy High School. As one of nine siblings, Mary Ellen cherished family bonds and was a source of love and support to her brothers and sisters throughout her life. As a dedicated homemaker, Mary Ellen poured her heart and soul into creating a nurturing environment for her family. The most important thing to her was family, and she cherished every opportunity to spend quality time together. Despite her long history of illness, Mary Ellen faced each challenge with grace, dignity, and remarkable resilience. Her strength in the face of adversity was a source of inspiration to her loved ones and those around her. Mary Ellen Quicquaro will be remembered for her unwavering love, her devotion to family, and her bright spirit. Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, besides her husband, are her son, Daniel Quicquaro and his children; Sydney and Madison. She also leaves her siblings; Holly Capobianco, Michael McCormack, Tim McCormack, Kevin McCormack, Katie McGovern, Bridget Ciarlo, and Tara McCormack. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, friends and extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother, Shaun McCormack.
A Memorial Gathering for Mary Ellen will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. when a Prayer Vigil will be held at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705.
