WOLCOTT – Mary Ellen (Kiley) Shea, age 77 of Wolcott, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, July 14th 2022 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Mary Ellen was born December 6th 1944 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Lynch) Kiley. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and attended Mattatuck Community College. Mary Ellen had raised her family in Waterbury and worked as a property manager at the Exchange Place building in downtown Waterbury. Upon her retirement, she moved to Florida for several years before returning to Waterbury in 2018 to be closer to her family. Mary Ellen enjoyed spending time at the beach and was always happiest while being surrounded by the love of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Wolcott the Wolcott Senior Center and always looked forward to monthly gatherings with her friends and Thursday night BINGO. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, are her two daughters; Sherry Bessette and her husband, Matthew of Waterbury, and Colleen Caron and her husband, Andrew of Plymouth, her sister Patricia Laganaro and her partner Helene and her 4 grandsons Tim, Brendan, Jacques, Logan. She was predeceased by her longtime partner, Norman Lalonde
Funeral services for Mrs. Shea will be held on Thursday July 21st at 11:00am at St Pius the X church 517 Woodtick Rd, Wolcott, CT 06716 burial will follow Old St Joseph’s Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Shea family on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705.
