AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - OAKVILLE - Mary (Omicioli) Grinsunas, age 85 of Hubbell Ave Oakville died Sunday July 4, 2010 at Danbury Hospital with her loving family by her side after an extended illness. Mary was the widow of Anthony Grinsunas who passed away in 1981.
Mary was born, December 26, 1924 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Albert and Augusta (Paoletti) Omicioli and lived in Waterbury most of her life. She was a graduate of Roosevelt School, Bunker Hill School and Wilby High School. Mary first worked as a Timekeeper at Autoyre in Oakville and then at the Bristol Co. Most recently, she was employed at Easter Seals of Greater Waterbury as a Secretary. Mary enjoyed gardening, visiting local restaurants and was a great movie buff and fond of the theater. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her loving family. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loreto Church in Waterbury. Mary's family would like to extend their personal gratitude and appreciation to Jackie Germaine and the staff at CT Community Care (CCI) as well as the staff at both Waterbury and Danbury Hospitals and those at the "Live In For the Elderly" Program and Interim Healthcare.
Mary leaves her devoted daughter, Margaret Owens and her husband Phil of Bethlehem, two brothers, Joseph of Waterbury and Gene of Huntington Beach, CA., her sister, Palma Strazzeri of Waterbury and four grandchildren, David Barbino, Kimberly Barbinoi, Tyler Owens and Stephanie Owens 2 great grand daughters Cassandra and Melissa Barbino as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her sister Barbara Omcioli.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 9 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville to Our Lady of Loreto Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to CT Community Care (CCI) 43 Enterprise Drive Bristol, Connecticut 06010-7472.
