WATERBURY - Mrs. Mary Jane Murphy, age 97, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 21, 2021 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the widow of Robert Murphy.
Mary Jane was born May 21, 1924 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Henry and Julia (Harrington) Simpson. She was educated in local schools and then went on to be a private nurse for many years. Mary Jane loved spending her time off vacationing at Cape Cod. She was longtime parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church. The family would like to thank Southmayd Home and their entire staff for the wonderful care and love they shared with Mary Jane over the years. An extra special thanks to her godson, Steven and his wife, Line Johnson
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory is her niece, Deb Clifford and her husband Jack Clifford their children Jillian and Matthew Clifford and her nephews, Joey and Larry Simpson. She also leaves behind her godson, Steven Johnson and his wife Line.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Murphy will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Old Saint Joe's Cemetery Waterbury, CT. There are no calling hours.
