Titusville FL ?" Mary Lea Savage, age 69 of LaCita Lane, Titusville, died on Sunday at her home, with her brother and sister by her side, after an extended illness.
Ms. Savage was born in Morristown NJ, on December 1, 1937, the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony Savage and Mildred (Shaw) Savage. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury CT and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from the Catholic University of America, Washington DC. She went on to receive her Masters of Science Degree from Boston University. She worked in Nursing Administration at both New England Deaconess Hospital and Boston City Hospital in Boston. After re-locating to Florida she became the Associate Director of Nurses at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville FL and later served as Director of Home Health Nursing Administration. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Titusville and at Holy Spirit Church in Mims, FL. She loved her church, brought a passion for good care to the nursing profession and enjoyed children and dogs.
Ms. Savage is survived by her sister, Anne Hope Savage Crawley of Monclair NJ and her brother, Joseph W. Savage of Kentucky as well as eleven nieces and nephews and seventeen grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Ms. Savage will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. John the Evangelist Church 574 Main St. Watertown CT at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Watertown. There are no calling hours. The O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT has been entrusted with arrangements. In addition, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated on September 29, 2007 at 10:00am at Holy Spirit Church, Mims FL. A gathering will follow at Mary's home.
