Waterbury ?" Mary A.(Corcoran) McAree, age 88, of 2221 East Main Street, died Monday August 27, 2007, surrounded by her family at Wolcott View Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the widow of John F. McAree.
Mrs. McAree was born March 5th 1919, the daughter of the late Lawrence V. and Marguerite (Dowd) Corcoran in Waterbury CT. She attended Saint Mary's Grammar School, Waterbury Catholic High and graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Saint Mary's Hospital for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Saint Mary's School of Nursing Alumni Association and the EastGate Seniors Club. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family as well as playing card games. She was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Church in Waterbury.
Mrs. McAree is survived by her son, John L. McAree and his wife Francine of Wolcott, her daughter, Margaret Cannavino and her husband Ray of San Diego California, her sister, Maureen Pogodzienski of Watertown; 3 grandchildren Kristin McAree Hassan of Wolcott, Christopher Cannavino of San Diego, CA and Suzanne Cannavino Souza of Pasadena, CA; 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Dylan, & Dane Hassan, Liam Cannavino, Gianna Souza as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Seeley.
