WATERBURY CT. Mrs. Mary (Donofrio) Muccino, age 76, died on Monday at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of John F. Muccino Sr..
Mrs. Muccino was born in Waterbury on September 7, 1933, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose (Spangioletti) Donofrio. She was educated in local schools and was first employed at A.W. Hayden in Waterbury and then worked for many years as a nursing assistant at St. Mary's Hospital. Mary enjoyed traveling to the casino, playing bingo and she was an avid reader. She loved to cook and prepare meals for her entire family to enjoy together. Mary was an active parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Waterbury and was a member of the Ladies Guild there as well as an active member of the Red Hatters Club. Mary's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and acknowledge the staff of Xavier 3 at St. Mary's Hospital for the personal care they provided their mother throughout her illness.
Besides her loving husband of 53 years. Mary leaves two sons, Nicholas and his wife Carrie of Northfield CT and David and his wife Lori of Waterbury, 2 daughters, Karen Martin and her husband Thomas of Media PA and Debbie Boivin and her husband Brian of Torrington. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Rita Pataschuk of Sarasota FL and 9 grandchildren, Tara, Madison, Kourtney, Gaylen, Cullen, Cole, Wyatt, Justin and Jami as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her son, John F. Muccino Jr.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Muccino will be held on Saturday August 14, 2010 at 8:30AM from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St. Waterbury to St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4 till 7pm.
