Proud of her Irish Heritage
WATERBURY - Ms. Mary O'Neill, age 100, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Cheshire House in Waterbury.
Mary was born July 2nd 1920, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Eugene V. and Marcella (Kerrigan) O'Neill. Mary was a life long Waterbury resident and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High. She spent many years working as a clerical assistant at the Bristol Company until her retirement. She was a former parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church and she enjoyed traveling and was very proud of her Irish heritage. One of her favorite experiences was kissing the Blarney stone in Ireland during one of her many trips.
Mary's family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff and workers at the Cheshire House and Seasons Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Mary and her family during her illness.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her nephews; Richard E. Stone and his wife, Susan, Arthur J. O'Neill and his wife, Ruby and James D. Stone and his companion, Patty Williamson. She was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur O'Neill and Irene O'Neill Stone.
Funeral Services for Ms. O'Neill will be held on Tuesday, June 1,2021 at 11:00 am at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd., Waterbury, CT. Burial will follow in Old Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury, CT. Until the greater Waterbury area reaches a 70% threshold of vaccinated population, those visiting the funeral home are requested to remain masked while inside or attending services Memories last only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort, or a personal memory with the O'Neill family on Mary's tribute page at www.eastsidememorial.com .
