Cheshire - Mary R. Pilch age 95, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully Wednesday June 12th at the Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire after a long illness. She was the widow of Samuel H. Pilch.
Mrs. Pilch was born May 30 1918 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget (McCormack) Kenney. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and dedicated herself to her family and children through out her life. She was a lifetime member of the Prospect Street School PTA in Naugatuck and enjoyed embroidery, bingo, singing in the Highland Health Care Chorus, painting, and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.
Among her survivors are her four daughters, Mary H. Pilch of Plantsville, Margaret C. Moore of Port Smith, VA. Susan Ann Pilch of Waterbury and Joan T. Chipokas of Naugatuck, her sons, Samuel H. Pilch Jr; of Long Grove, IL. Michael J. Pilch of Buffalo Grove, IL. and Edward W. Pilch of New London, Iowa, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her son, John J. Pilch and as well as two sisters and four brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Highlands Health Care and at Community Connection Vitas for the loving care and compassion they provided to Mary.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 a 10:15am from Eastside Memorial, A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd to St. Anthony's Church, Intersection of Route 68 & 69 Prospect, CT to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Rites of committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Mary's family on Monday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 ~ 10:15 am. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Highland Health Care Recreation Department, 745 Highland Ave Cheshire, CT 06410 or to Vitas Innovative Care at 199 Park Rd Ext.
