AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Mary (Schneider) Povilaitis age 102 of Ledgewood Rd. Watertown died Friday at her home in Watertown. She was the widow of Joseph Povilaitis and Anthony Kazakevege.
Mary was born February 2, 1907 in Fairfield and moved to Lithuania as a child, moving to Waterbury in 1930 and lived in Waterbury until moving to her daughter's home in Watertown 11 years ago. Mary worked on her family farm for several years and also worked at the Pin Shop in Oakville. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church ELCA in Waterbury.
She leaves a daughter Anna J. Rickevicius of Watertown with whom she made her home, a sister Olga Konans of Oakville, a son in law Alphonse Ladyga of Waterbury, three grandchildren; David Ladyga of Waterbury, Linda A. Rickevicius of Watertown, Karen Sheehy of Waterbury, five great grandchildren and a great great grandson. She was predeceased by a daughter Ruth Ladyga.
Funeral Monday February 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 88 Cooke Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.
