WATERBURY - Mary (Fahy) Shea, age 97 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at the Middlebury Convalescent Home after an extended illness. She was the widow of Jeremiah Shea.
Mrs. Shea was born on July 20, 1922 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Richard and
Mary (Sheehy) Fahy. She was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and graduated from Leavenworth High School. She worked for many years in the cafeteria of East Farms School (Generali) where she enjoyed being with all the children. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Church. She loved traveling with her husband after his retirement but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to honor her legacy and remember her love and memories are her son, Richard Shea(Cindy) and daughter, Donna Jane Wood (Peter), five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the staff at Middlebury Convalescent Home for the wonderful care and love they shared with Mary throughout her stay there.
Because of the ongoing restrictions for Covid-19 the funeral services for Mrs. Shea are private. She will be laid to rest in her family plot in New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been honored to assist the Shea family during their time of need.
