WOLCOTT—It is with profound sadness that the family of Maryann (Mack) Johnson, age 84, of Wolcott, share the news of her peaceful passing on Friday, December 13th, 2024, at Cheshire House. She was the widow of Paul Johnson.
Maryann was born on July 24, 1940, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Boszko) Mack. She attended local schools, graduating from Wilby High School and then went on to work at many area banks. Maryann also worked in the retail business at Service Merchandise and JCPenney. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but especially her beloved cat and faithful companion, Toby. Maryann will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for those around her. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to all.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her son, Donald and his wife Sandy, of Wolcott, sister-in-law, Betty Desiderio, several nieces and nephews, as well as special friend Susan Swiridowsky and her caretaker, Joy Hathaway. She was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Johnson Membrino, and brothers; Joseph and Thomas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, Saint Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Rd, Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Casey’s Funeral and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT has been honored to assist the Johnson family during this difficult time.
