BAREFOOT BAY, FL Marye Jane (Rotella) Marano, 92, of Barefoot Bay, FL passed away at her home on June 7, 2012. She was the wife of Alfred "Fred" Marano.
Mrs. Marano was born June 24, 1919 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Cretelli) Rotella and attended Sacred Heart Grammar and High School. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church for over 60 years. She moved to Barefoot Bay, Florida, 27 years ago where she was a communicant and Eucharist Minister at St. Luke's Parrish in Barefoot Bay for 25 years. She was a member of the Italian-American Club of Barefoot Bay and Sebastian, FL. Mrs. Marano was a member of the New England Club where she was the membership chairman, and the past president of Saint Luke's Ladies Guild. She also taught Ballroom Dancing in Sebastian and Barefoot Bay for many years.
Besides her husband of 70 years, Marye Jane leaves her daughters, Terri (Hugh) Murphy of Barefoot Bay, Sandy (Bob) Sheehan of Sebastian as well as 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marano will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:30am from the Casey O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church to Celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Visiting hours for Mrs. Marano will be on Saturday morning from 9:00 till 10:30am at the funeral home.
