WATERBURY - Mr. Matthew Dean, age 80, died Thursday, March 18th, 2021, at Waterbury Hospital.
Matthew was born in Greenwood, S.C., on February 11th, 1941, son of the late Martin C. Dean and Eula Bell (Goodwin) Dean. He was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in the welding/manufacturing industry for over 30 years until his early retirement at age 55. Matthew loved photography and had a keen eye for capturing a moment. His favorite subject was nature. He knew how to be patient and still in nature and was able to capture the perfect picture and even feed some animals because of how relaxed he was when outdoors. He enjoyed watching westerns, Saturday Cinema Kung Fu movies, and classics like Smokey and the Bandit. He will be missed by all of his friends and loved ones.

To honor Matthews love and legacy are his three children, Erik Matthew Dean of Spring Hill, FL, Aaron Daniel Dean of Plymouth, CT, and Delicia Antoinette (Dean) Furlow of Raleigh, NC; his fiancée, Avalina Duarte and her children, of Waterbury; an uncle Timothy Goodwin of Rome, N.Y.; an aunt, Margie Andrews of Waterbury; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several cousins and loved ones. Matthew was predeceased by his two daughters, Alison Tracey Dean and Sharon Lorene Dean; and his grandson Antoine Mack Abney of Waterbury, CT.

Due to COVID-19 conditions, all services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been honored to care for Matthew and his family during this difficult time. is entrusted with arrangements.
