OAKVILLE - Maurice McManus, age 74 of Oakville passed away peacefully on Friday January 13, 2017 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his beloved wife Jane Ann and his closest friends.
Maurice was born in Scotland on March 20, 1942 the son of the late Maurice and Lillian (Lindsey) McManus. His father was the first Catholic Mayor of Dundee Scotland in the early 1960's. Maurice earned his degree from London University and worked for more than 25 years at Timex as a Worldwide Manager. Later in life her worked as a Salesman at Woodbury Pewter. Maurice was an avid opera and Irish music fan loved to travel and had a soft spot in his heart for animals. He loved to work around the house and was considered by many to be a real "gadget guy".
Besides his devoted wife of 54 years, Jane Ann (Hamilton) McManus, Maurice leaves his family in Scotland; brothers, Frank and Michael and sister, Maureen McManus, and his precious cat, Suzy Q. He was predeceased by a sister, Olga McManus.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff at Vitas, especially his homecare nurse, Ginger .
At Maurice's request all services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family. To honor his memory, contributions may be made to the Watertown Convalarium Recreation Fund 560 Woodbury Rd Watertown CT 06795.
