OAKVILLE - Michael David Capolupo, age 30, of Oakville, CT, passed away unexpectedly at Hartford Hospital on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 after sustaining injuries from a motor vehicle accident in Farmington.
Mike was born August 19, 1988 in Waterbury, CT, the son of David and Gail (Fuller) Capolupo. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications from Johnson and Wales University in RI, where he was a fraternity member of Sigma Pi.
Mike had a big personality and loved working with people. This was clear in his excitement for his career as a business development manager for Dine In Connecticut, where he worked with restaurants, clients, and a team he loved. For the past several years, he led a partnership between Dine In and Farmington Valley Relay For Life, organizing restaurant donations for the annual Cancer Survivors' Dinner. Mike was a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do; he trained at The Charland Institute in Watertown and was an instructor at Bunker Hill Karate in Waterbury. He made an impression wherever he went, from coffee shops across the state to the local sandwich shop where the "Mikey" became a menu standard.
Besides his parents of Oakville, Mike is survived by his paternal grandmother, Jean Capolupo of Watertown, and his sister, Lauren Capolupo of Boston, MA. In addition, he leaves aunts and uncles James Capolupo, Glenn and Lianne Fuller, Nancy and JR Pestey, and Natalie and James Testa, as well as many cousins, fraternity brothers, and friends. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather Chester Capolupo and maternal grandparents Oakley and Ruth Fuller.
Funeral services for Mike will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St, Oakville, CT 06779, has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements.
