LIVED LIFE TO THE FULLEST
WOLCOTT - Michael "Mickey" Jannetty, age 87, of Wolcott passed away peacefully at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital on Sunday, April 18, 2021 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jean (Ercoli) Jannetty.
Mickey was born January 9th 1934 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Louis and Henrietta (Hapke) Jannetty. He was raised in the Oakville area and proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War Conflict. Mickey lived life to the fullest. He had a heart of gold, and was loved by all his friends and family that considered him a walking angel on Earth. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms, golfing, and making homemade wine. His favorite time was eating a dish of macaroni on Sunday afternoons under the grape arbor.
Left to honor Mickey's legacy and treasure his memories, besides his wife of 66 years, are his three daughters; Mickie Meyhoefer and her husband, Mike of Brookfield, Michele Jannetty and her husband, Anthony Caputo Jr. of Southington and Carla Updegraff and her husband, Brandon of Wolcott. Mickey and Jean were blessed with 11 grandchildren; Alayna, Joe, Dean, Julianna, Kaitlynn, Gabriel, Madison, Kameron, Nathan, Brianna and Tyler and his great granddaughter, Scarlett. He also leaves his brother Teddy Jannetty and two sisters; Betty Stango, Mary Lamitola. He was predeceased by 7 siblings and 3 nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Jannetty will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael Church, Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Mickey's family on Friday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT. We are all still very concerned about everyone's health and safety so all federal and state guidelines relative to COVID #19 will be observed but you can be assured of a safe, clean and comforting environment to express your support to the Jannetty family.
