WATERBURY- Migdalia Gonzalez age 81, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8th 2021 at Touch Point Health Care Center in Farmington surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Antonio Gonzalez.
Migdalia was born August 21st 1940 in Lares, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Anastasio and Luisa (Lopez) Hernandez. She was raised and educated in Puerto Rico before moving to the United States in the sixty's where she settled in Waterbury to raise her family. Migdalia was a loving and dedicated homemaker who was always happiest while spending time with her family. She also had a passion for music and enjoyed dancing to her favorite songs. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be remembered for her immense strength.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, are her daughters; Nancy Rodriguez and her husband. Carmelo of New Britain, and Mandy Knodle and her husband, Bill of Gainesville Texas. She also leaves her six adoring grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as 4 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother and sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gonzalez will be held on Thursday, August 12 2021 at 1:00 p.m at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Migdalia family on Thursday morning from 11am. Until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. We are all still concerned about the pandemic, consequently masks will be required at all times while indoors.
