THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF MINNIE DAVIS

Life and Legacy of Minnie L. Davis

Minnie Lee (Gallman) Davis transitioned from a fulfilled life of labor to her final reward on Friday, December 4, 2020. The youngest child of the late Maggie L. (Long) and Colie Gallman, Sr. Minnie was born in Silverstreet, South Carolina on June 16, 1942.

Minnie received her education at Gallman High School in Newberry, South Carolina.
After marrying the love of her life James R. (Wee) Davis Sr., the family moved to Waterbury, Connecticut for a new beginning in 1962. She was a hard worker who dedicated her life to serving others. For over 20 years, Minnie worked at Sherwood Medical Company. For 18 years she worked at Chemech Systems Company in Watertown, Connecticut until her retirement. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ at Little River Baptist Church in Silverstreet, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church for over 58 years.
Minnie had a loving heart and was always lending a helping hand. Her laughter and warm spirit could light up a room within seconds. Minnie loved to cook. One of her favorite hobbies was baking. She was well known for her famous coconut, chocolate and pineapple cakes. Her mouth- watering sweet potato and coconut pies were absolutely delicious. Christmas was Minnie's favorite time of the year. She was well known for her authentic goodie bags. The bags were distributed to family during the holidays.

Blessed to have seen 78 years of a fulfilled life, Minnie Davis leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband of sixty-three years James R. (Wee) Davis Sr. Six sons: James R. Jr. (Barbara), Dennis, Tommy (Delores), Earl, Jeffrey (Lisa), and Leonard (proceed in death). She also has one daughter: Janice (Douglas Sr).
Seven loving grandchildren: Jermaine, DeShayla (Troy Sr.), Tommy Jr, Jasmine, Desiree, Jeffrey Jr., and Douglas Jr. Four great-grandchildren: Jahzarah, Maurice, Troy Jr, and Lakein. One beloved sister- Lula Mae Brown from Newberry, South Carolina. One beloved brother, Colie Gallman Jr., who has preceded her in death. Three caring sister-in-laws: Albertha B. Gallman of Bowie, Maryland, Barbara Abney and Diane Davis both of Newberry, South Carolina. Minnie also leaves to cherish a special nephew: LeeVerne Gallman, longtime friend, Ms. Fannie Taylor, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, supportive friends and church family.

Due to Covid-19 guidelines, a funeral service for Minnie Davis will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services has been honored to assist the Davis family during this time.
