Mr. Prudencio " Junior" Ortiz Jr.

WATERBURY - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Prudencio “Junior” Ortiz Jr age 69 of Waterbury announce his peaceful passing on Monday July 15, 2024 with his daughter Sandra and grandson Brayden by his side in the comfort of his home after an extended illness.  

Mr. Ortiz was born on March 1, 1955 in Maricao P.R. the son of the late Prudencio Sr and Jula M (Rodriguez) Ortiz. Junior was a retired business owner and he loved shooting pool and darts and enjoyed all sports but baseball in particular was an avid NY Mets fan. He was loved by many and was a kind and generous person to all. 

Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy are his children, Sandra of Waterbury, Prudencio III, Zulma, and his stepson Joey. He also leaves  his grandson, Brayden, 15 siblings , 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and scores of nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Santos Ortiz Rodriguez,   

There will be a local visitation for family and friends on Thursday July 18, 2024 from 5:00 until 6:30 pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Center 1987 East Main St Waterbury 06705. A prayer service with the Rev. Diego Jiminez will be held promptly at 6:30 p.m. Funeral and burial will be held in Cabo Rojo, PR 00623 on Sunday July 21, 2024.
