Committed to her family and her faith
WATERBURY - Aurise Y. Brouillard age 84, of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Riverglen Care Center in Southbury after a brief illness
Aurise was born on August 24, 1939 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Antonio V. and Marie Jeanne (Descoteaux) Brouillard. She was educated in local schools and worked for many years as a Housekeeper at Wolcott View Manor. Aurise and her husband were the Proprietors of Nostalgia Café and she was the brains of the operation and kept everyone in line. She was a very talented seamstress who was an avid reader, and she loved her “devil dogs and oreos”. She was a longtime parishioner of St Anne’s Church in Waterbury and active in many of the parish activities. Aurise was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a devoted mother, sister and friend. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, and the unending love you instilled in all of us.
Left to honor her memory are her children; sons: Joseph Fabiano and his wife Barbara of Crescent City FL, Anthony Fabiano and his wife Rebecca of Waterbury, Paul Fabiano and his wife Theresa of Crescent City FL and her daughter Lisa Ann Bessette and her husband Paul of Waterbury. She also leaves her brothers; Gerald Brouillard and his wife Janice of Waterbury and Guy Brouillard and his wife Diane of IN. Aurise was blessed with 8 grandchildren; Sandra Hunkele, Michele Fabiano Kerski, Michael Fabiano, Anthony J. Fabiano III, Nicole Fabiano, Gregory Fabiano, Paul R. Bessette Jr, and Amanda Bessette and 3 great grandchildren; Izabella, Rowan and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by a grandson, Mathew and her siblings; Yolande Brouillard, Therese Vaillancourt, Marcel Brouillard, Lorraine Butler, John Paul Brouillard, Robert Brouillard and Sr. Giselle Brouillard of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit. As our family mourns the loss of a special mother, sister, aunt and friend, we are deeply touched by the outpouring of support from family, friends and the community. The considerate and thoughtful care provided by the staff at River Glen Care Center and the Regional Hospice have been a great source of comfort during this difficult time and the family is grateful beyond words can adequately express.
Funeral services for Ms. Brouillard will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church 182 Robinwood Rd Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
