Ms. Carmella Guerra

WATERBURY, CT – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carmella Guerra share the news of her peaceful passing on November 25, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. 

Carmella was born on July 20, 1962, in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Callie (Lynn) Guerra. She was a graduate of local schools and Carmella dedicated her time to raising her son Raymond Fortier and caring for her nieces and nephews. She had a special bond with her three dogs, Bear, Smokey, and Grandpa, as well as her two birds, Tweety and Honey, whom she adored dearly. Carmella took pride in her role as a homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to love and know her. 

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory is her son, Raymond and his wife Melissa Fortier of Waterbury, and her siblings, Mary, Ro, Salvatore, and Ralph. Carmella leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She also leaves her companion Leo. Carmella was predeceased by not only her parents but her brothers, Anthony, and Jerry. 

A Memorial Gathering for Ms. Guerra will be celebrated on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
