SHELTON- Mrs. Muriel Connors-Monahan, age 79 of Shelton passed away after a brief illness with her sons by her side on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Griffin Hospital.
Muriel was born on October 30, 1942, in Bridgeport. the daughter of the late William and Mae (Van Landeghem) Connors. Muriel was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Fairfield and St. Vincent University School of Nursing in Bridgeport. Muriel was an avid reader, loved knitting, never missed a good bingo game, and always looked forward to her many trips to Disneyworld. What was most important to Muriel was her family, especially her three boys. Muriel loved traveling with her friends and family, especially to see her grandchildren. Muriel lived life to the fullest blessed by her faith, family, and friends. Muriel was a retired office administrator and previously served as an assistant religious education director of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Shelton for many years. Muriel will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her sons, Francis Monahan of Naugatuck, William and his wife Erin of Boston and Quinn and his wife Wendy of Southbury, her three grandchildren Margaret, Meghan, and Cecilia. Muriel is also survived by Robert and Roberta Feiman of Florida along with many cousins. Muriel was predeceased by her grandson, Edward, her brothers; Edward F. and William Connors, sister Margaret, and her daughter-in-law, Gina Monahan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Monahan will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton CT. Burial will follow in St Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church.
