WATERBURY - Nelson Ortiz, age 47 of Waterbury passed away on Tuesday evening at the Hospital for Special Care Annex Hospital in Hartford CT after an extended illness.
Nelson was born in Waterbury on October 9, 1968, the son of the late Jose Ortiz and Maria Morales. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and a lifelong resident of Waterbury.
Nelson leaves his stepfather, Jose Morales and many cousins including Julia Ortiz who took care of him during his illness and was very close to him.
Funeral services for Mr Ortiz will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 with a prayer and committal service to be held at All Saints Cemetery, Spring Lake Rd Waterbury CT at 11:00 am. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
