WATERBURY –Noris P. Hamans, age 59, of Waterbury, passed away
unexpectedly on Thursday, July 14 th 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after
a brief illness. He was the husband of Lavern Lawrence-Hamans and father to
Ricardo Hamans, Kareim Grant, Demel Hamans and Kayla Hamans.
Noris aka “Shaba” was born May 19 th, 1963, in Port of Farm, St Mary Parish,
Jamaica. He was the son of the late Stanley and Lilybell (Thompson) Hamans.
As a child Noris was stubborn and always smiling, which were two qualities that
he carried with him throughout his adulthood. Noris was a visionary. He was very
ambitious and was a very hard worker. Noris had a few different careers in his
life, from craft work as a young adult to cable work for over a decade in his late
20s, to starting his own business ventures which lead him to his restaurant
Kayle’s Jamaican Bakery and Restaurant, his pride and joy. Noris successfully
owned and managed his restaurant for over 10 years, up to his passing. Noris
was a uniquely exceptional man, he was one of the funniest people you would
have ever come across and had the kindest heart.
His wife Lavern of 6 years, his 3 sons, Ricardo, Kareim, Demel, daughter Kayla,
Stepdaughter Tazmarie and Grandchildren Diamond Hamans, Kamel Hamans,
Gabriel Grant, and Alainah Sewell are left to honor his legacy and cherish his
memory.
Funeral services for Mr. Hamans will be held on Saturday July 23 rd 2022 at
Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT
06705. At 12:00 noon burial will be held in Jamaica at the convenience of his
family. Relatives and friends may visit with the Hamans family on Friday evening
at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:30pm. Love and kindness is always
