A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother
WATERBURY – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Norma (Brown) Savage at the wonderful age of 95 on July 29, 2023 at the Southington Care Center. She was the widow of John Savage.
Norma was born on April 20, 1928, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Simon) Brown. She was educated in local schools and worked for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital in the Pharmacy. The most important thing to Norma was her family and while she enjoyed many activities, time spent with any of her family was her most treasured time. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Church where she rarely missed the Wednesday novena as a member of the Madonna Guild. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us. We also thank God for a life so well lived. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her and cherish her memory, are her children; Maureen Sillery and her husband Clark who was Norma’s pride and joy and like her own son, of York Maine, Karen Savage of Plantsville, Carolyn Savage and her husband, Todd Banville of Kittery Point ME. She also leaves her sister, Muriel Hohl of WA and 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her devoted friend, Karen Sauer. Norma was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Gumpper and her longtime beloved companion, John Sauer
