WATERBURY, CT - Mrs. Olivia DeLima, age 99 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Friday August 11, 2017 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness.
Mrs. DeLima was born on October 6, 1917 in Portugal the daughter of the late Joaquim and Maria (DaSilva) Barros. Olivia was entirely devoted to her family helping to raise her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always ready to lend a helping hand consistently putting other before herself. For a woman approaching 100 years old she was active and strong and vibrant right up until the very end. Sadly, her family was in the midst of planning a 100th birthday party for Olivia. She will be surely missed by all who knew and loved her. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury.
Olivia is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Maria Olinda Laurenco of Waterbury, her grandchildren, who were like her own children, Manual "Manny" (Vera) Laurenco of Woodbury and Manuela "Maria" (Fernando) Barreiro of Waterbury and her great granddaughter, Ana Cristina Quintero and her husband, Marc of Bristol and her beloved great, great grandson Donovan Daniel Quintero.
Funeral services for Mrs. DeLima will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin St. Waterbury CT. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
