Plymouth - Patricia "Betty" Ericsson age 71, of Terryville, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2013 at Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. She was the widow of Walter "Buddy" Ericsson.
Betty was born July 30, 1941 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late George and Mary Ellen (Malone) Miller. Betty was a loving and dedicated mother who was selfless and devoted her life to her family. She was known as the "neighborhood Mom" and was always happiest when surrounded by her children, their friends, and her grandchildren. It was never uncommon to have a house full of neighborhood children spending days, nights, and weekends at her home and she always loved to cook and entertain for friends and family.
Among her survivors are her three daughters; Karen and her husband John Pesillo of Terryville, Sharon and her husband Edwin Smith of Terryville and Carol and her husband Jody Grosso of Portland, her grandchildren, Ashley and C.J. Smith, Nicole Messier, Tiersa and Katie Pesillo Joseph Grosso and Nicholas Grosso as well her great grandson, Xander and many close friends
Funeral services for Mrs. Ericsson will be held Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at EASTSIDE MEMORIAL, "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St at Southmayd Rd. Waterbury followed by interment in West Cemetery Plymouth. Family and Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening January 15, 2013 from 5:00 ~ 8:00pm.
