WOODBURY - It is with profound sadness that the family of Patricia Edith (Ahlstrand) Kropp, age 82 of Woodbury share news of her peaceful passing on Sunday January 12, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.
Patricia was born on February 7, 1942, in Greenwich CT, the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Howley) Ahlstrand and spent her early years in Fairfield County until she married and moved to Watertown. In 2017 she moved to Florida and returned to live in Woodbury in 2021. Patricia, known to her friends as Tric, made a name for herself in the real estate industry, where she thrived as a realtor for many years. Her career not only provided a living but also allowed her to pursue her other great love—restoring and renovating houses. Alongside her real estate work, she made a significant impact in the political arena, serving in elected office and contributing to her community in meaningful ways.In recent years, Tric rediscovered a long-held passion for sewing, focusing particularly on the art of quilting. She poured her heart and soul into creating beautiful, intricate quilts, often saying she could never choose a favorite because each one was a labor of love. Her quilts, a testament to her creativity and dedication, will continue to be cherished by those fortunate enough to have received one. Tric was a person who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it was transforming a neglected property into a home or stitching together a quilt. Her generosity, warmth, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to honor her memory and legacy are her children: George Martin Kropp and Jennifer (Kropp) Occhicone and her husband Lou. Tric was blessed with two grandchildren who adored their grandmother; Kyle and Cole Occhicone. She also leaves her sister, Donna Ahlstrand. She was predeceased by her son, Douglas James Kropp and the father of her children Richard Joseph Kropp.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kropp will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Woodward-Mattoon Memorial Chapel, of Evergreen Cemetery 183 North St Watertown. Interment will immediately follow the service. Casey – O’Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care 742 Main St Oakville has been entrusted with arrangements.
