WATERBURY - Patricia M. Layden, age 65 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly after an extended illness at St. Marys Hospital.
Patricia was born on October 12, 1954 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Doucette) Layden. She was educated in local schools and began her work life at Bradlees Dept Store in Waterbury where she made many friends and customers. She became interested in the funeral industry and was employed as a funeral director at Alderson's Funeral Home for a short time and then returned to school and became an O.R. Tech and worked at St Mary's Hospital in both the Operating Room and Gastro lab before retiring. Patty was an avid UCONN Womens basketball fan and was always happiest in the company of her adopted family the Robinson's as long as her cats were nearby. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy, are her brother; Harry Layden and his wife, Linette of Tulsa OK, nephew Andrew and his wife Lindsay also of Tulsa OK and her great nephew Ezra Layden and her second family, the Robinsons; MaryJane and James and their children; Alaina and Andy Ramos and Zachary, AJ and Amelia and of course, Bella. She was predeceased by two brothers; Richard and Thomas Layden.
Funeral services for Mrs. Layden will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT 06705. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. Relatives and friends may visit with Patricia's family on Monday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. All applicable rules regarding COVID#19 will be strictly enforced.
