SSOUTHBURY - Patricia M. Sheehan, age 97, of Southbury, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Thursday, December 20, 2018. She was the widow of Edward J. Sheehan.
Patricia was born February 19, 1921 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Phelan) Blum. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and spent most of her life in Waterbury, prior to moving to Heritage Village. She enjoyed spending time at the Southbury Senior Center, where she participated in yoga and sing-alongs, and always looked forward to weekly luncheons and movies with her friends. Patricia was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always happiest while spending time with her family around the dinner table, especially around the holidays.
She is survived by her children Richard Sheehan and his wife, Catherine of Newport, RI, Patrick Sheehan and his wife, Doris of Southbury, CT, Timothy Sheehan of Boston, MA as well as her daughter-in-laws, Sandra Sheehan of Sebastian, FL and Julie Sheehan of Wolcott, CT. She also leaves her nine adoring grandchildren, Colleen, Christopher, Paul, Kelly, Brian, Gregg, Kristen, Kenneth and Matthew as well as her 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons, Robert and Martin Sheehan and her four brothers.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Sheehan on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St S, Southbury, CT 06488. Relatives and friends may visit with Patricia's family in the Sacred Heart Daily Chapel on Saturday morning from 8:30 - 9:45 am. Burial will follow in Old Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Waterbury.
