WATERBURY - Patricia Lee "Pattie" (Murphy) Spagnolo, age 78, formerly of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the widow of Fernando C Spagnolo Sr. who passed away in 2001.
Pattie was born on March 19, 1940 in Pittsburg PA, the daughter of the late Stephen P and Pearl (Windhorst) Murphy. She earned her Associates Degree and worked for over 30 years at Travelers Insurance as a Risk Management Specialist, retiring in 2004. She loved baking and playing cards but most of all her entire life revolved around her family. She strived every single day to be a great wife, mother and grandmother and sacrificed her own dreams for that of her son and grandchildren. Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving and devoted mother is the greatest of them all. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Pattie is survived by her son; Fernando C. Spagnolo Jr, Deputy Chief, Waterbury Police Dept, her brother, Stephen R. Murphy and her grandchildren; Joseph P, Meaghan J, and William C. Spagnolo. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins especially her loving cousin Betty Lou Merrell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Spagnolo will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main St. Waterbury CT 06706. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately in the family plot in Wethersfield CT. Relatives and friends may visit with Pattie's family on Monday April 2, 2018 from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd.
